Looking back at all the work we have done I believe that our FINAL piece of work has worked well and has achieved what we wanted to achieve and considering all the problems that we had we have come out with a decent final production.
All the research and planning that was done, did not always go according to plan but we tried to get back on track as much as we could. We got a few of our ideas from other films and other people's work helping us produce what we have finally produced.
The bad parts of our whole production was the trouble we had finding a male actor, we went through 3 different male actors but eventually found someone, but then our teachers believed he wasn't good enough for the role and we had to re-shot again and using the person we was going to use in the first place!
We also had to re-film parts right at the end because our teachers believed that our footage was to shaky and we had to re-film parts that were more shaky, and after we realized they were right and when we put it all together it looked much better.
Once everything was re-filmed and finally put together we happy at what we had produced and that is what we have now.

Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 7
I learnt about many different types of technology and how they work, I have a better understand of how the use the Apple Mac's and the software that they are installed with.
Another piece of equipment would be the use of a video camera, fortunately one of the members in our group had their own and said we use that to do the filming so we wouldn't have to borrow one from school when there may not be one available at times, this helped us a lot as we was able to do filming whenever we needed to.
Also the same member had a different version of editing software that she was very familiar with, this was a big help because we would not have to struggle as we tried to learn how to use the editing software on the Apple Mac's, and we edited our footage every time we filmed something new so we would not have to rush it at the end, this saved us a lot of time.
We also used technology like, normal PC's, a scanner to scan in story boards and feedback sheets and Adobe Fireworks to create posters and mood boards, these were all successful in uses and we produce good working using all these different types of software and technology.
The only less successful moment was when we were filming we did not use a tripod, this made our filming shaky and many parts had to re-filmed.

Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 6
Our Target audience was 16-35 year old's mainly women, I believed we reached our target audience because we included all the codes and conventions that are included in a romantic comedy that appeal to our target audience, and what they would expect from this type of genre.
When planning our production We made sure it appealed to our target audience by using the right colours like red and white, we also used males and females as a typical relationship and we always thought hard about what type of music to use so it would fit with our genre and the audience expectations.
When we did our final screening our class mates filled in feedback sheets letting us know what they thought of our final opening titles; they all knew it was a romantic comedy and believed that we did well even though all the problems we had trying to find a male actor. They also like the shots of London we had filmed that gave that wider image of location and thought that we put into it. They also thought that the transitions that we had used was a good way to change between scenes.
The less successful parts of our audience feedback was that they did not think the part where Eddie Lee wakes up was good enough, this was because we were limited on location and we struggled to find a male actor.
Our work could have been improved by using our time better and getting everything done before it was to late, I also think that we could have made some parts of our footage better.

Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 5
Our whole opening titles is based on society ways of stereotyping, with the use of a 'Geek' being late work waking up on a sofa and having bad luck this is very stereotypical for a 'geek'. As for a 'Stud' they are seen as on time good looking and always gets the girl this is also a very stereotypical way to describe a 'stud' and the 'Beauty' is on time organized and ready to take the day on.
This also fits in with Propps theory of characterization and the way that there is a 'hero' Eddie Lee, a 'baddie' Trevor Watson and a 'princess' Jessica Long and always results in a happy ending. We constructed this representation by showing Eddie being late for work and being sad when he see's Jessica with Trevor, Jessica being on time and organized and being pulled in by the 'baddie' and Trevor good looking and getting the girl and hurting Eddie.

Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 4
We have tried to make Love on the Line follow the main and stereotypical codes and conventions of a romantic comedy, which involves and two protagonists 'the goodies' a male and a female and one main antagonist 'the baddie' which is stereotypically a male, and all male protagonists are trying to get the girls heart, ending with a happy ending what ever happens during the film.
But because of the comedy side to the genre there must be humor and embarrassment to either the male protagonist or the male antagonist this shows that our genre is in fact a romantic comedy not just a romantic film and this is what the audience would like to see in a rom-com.
When we finally did editing we used many different techniques to make our titles look good and to put the comedy side to the genre out there.
Firstly we used a split screen to show there is two sides to this story and how they both live different lives this could also put the romantic genre into perspective because one is male and one is female.
Secondly we used many different transitions like cross fades between shots to give it that professional look and so that our footage could change from scene to scene nicely.
Thirdly we used a typewriter text for our typography to relate it to an office work place and also the way tracks can be straight.
We used loads of different angles to shot our footage, we used close ups on the male protagonist to show him getting ready and to emphasize how much of a rush he is in. We used an establishing shot of some big buildings in London to show that is was based in an office and to set out our settings.
For our music we couldn't use any everyday music because of copyright, we found a website that we could use that is a royalty free music website, we searched long and hard for just the right music and when we eventually found one it still had a romantic feel to it but was still up beat to bring in the comedy side to the opening titles and how the male protagonists was in a hurry.
For our mis-en-scene we used stereotypically colours for a romantic comedy like the colours red. The female protagonist wore a red coat to relate themselves to a romantic comedy. We also used white for the typography which is also a romantic related colour so that the audience would guess it was a romantic comedy just from the titles.

FINAL EDIT!
This is our final reshoot! after needed to be re filmed, we have finally found a decent actor to do our male actor and we have worked well with all the problems that we have had and completed it with promising results
Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 3
We researched many different distribution companies like touchstone, universal and working titles that we could maybe use to act as our distrbibution company.
We looked at other romantic comedies and which companies they used for example Valentine's Day was distributed by Warner Brothers.
But we decided to choose Miramax as they have distributed romantic comedies like Sliding Doors, My Big Fat Greek Wedding and even Bridget Jones Diary, this are all top romantic comedies that also have the same audience and genre and we believed that Miramax was the best fitting for out distribution company.

Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 2
The target audience for our opening titles are females ages 16 to 35 that will mainly be in couples or some sort of relationship and as women are stereotypically likely to watch this type of film also because of the genre and target audience we have decided that it will out valentines day.
We did questionnaires for people to fill in so we could then put all the details that the people believed fit in with a romantic comedy, we then tried to fit all these necessities so that people could relate it to a romantic comedy.

Our Opening Title Evaluation - Part 1
Love on the line fits in the sub genre of a romantic comedy because it is about a love triangle with a the main character making a fool of himself. It is based on three main characters, Jessica Long and Eddie lee are the main protagonists, and Trevor Watson is the antagonist. The reason for the 'Love On The Line' title is that the main two protagonists get the same train every day and he notices her but she does not notice him.
In the beginning we see Jessica wake up on time and get ready for a day at work, we then see Eddie wake up late and rush to get for the same work place as Jessica. Jessica makes the train on time. We then meet Trevor at the same work place as he greets Jessica with a hug and Eddie rushes in late seeing the hug and we have a close up on his heart-broken face.

Filming Journal - Entry 3
Today we re-filmed our office scene because of trouble we had been having with the male actor, we now have a decent male actor and we were able to film our office scene perfectly and get the footage we were really looking for.
We now only have editing and two final scenes to be shot, we hope to get them done on either monday 31st or Tuesday 1st and we need to get them done quick as we are running out of time and we may come up with problems on the way causing our editing and other things to be put on hold.
We are also saving time by editing parts we have filmed as we go alone, this will show any faults we have and help save time.
These are the pictures we took while we were filming as proof of recce

Feed Back Sheets for Students in Our Class
From the feedback that we got we have made sure we have made any changes in our opening titles so that the audience will enjoy it. Their feedback helped us learn what the audience wants and helps us change things that needed changing. We will make sure next time that we give the audience a clear idea of what we are doing in our opening titles, with more interesting information and is helpful to the audience for them to understand the story line and idea behind it all

Filming Journal - Entry 2
Today was our second day of filming, we all meet up at Welling Train Station so we could film another part of our opening title sequence.
The weather wasn't very bright but this couldn't be helped, we are running out of time and for this time of year we were very unlikely to get any nice weather. We manage to film most of what we wanted to film that day but of course we had problems.
Our first problem was the weather, it was close to raining and was very cold, this didn't quite give us the lighting and atmosphere that we would have hoped for. Our second problem was that our male actor didn't turn up! and after having to find another actor for the third time and we was let down again! This had a major impact on our filming as we could only get half the amount of filming we wanted to get done!
We will have to re film a scene we had already filmed due to different clothes being warn and different actors.
But the filming that we did do went well and we are able to start editing it to get it closer to what we want and how we want it. We are now able to say we have some footage that we can use and are able to get some editing done. I hope we will be able to get the actor who actually did filming with us.

Filming Journal- Entry 1
Today was our first day of Filming. We choose to film our Office scene as we was using our school as our office and all other scene would have to be filmed outside school. We had a corridor and a few doors which we needed for our actors to use as part of the scene.
We had a few problems during and even before filming. Firstly one of our actors decided he didn't want to part in our opening titles anymore, this meant we would have to find a new actor and fast as we were rapidly running out of time as our deadline is only a few weeks away.
We made sure that our other actor was able to take part a couple of weeks ago and thankfully today he was still able to be in our titles. We went to where we was going to be filming our office scene and found a good spot to use. But we still was short of an actor!
Luckily we found a suitable actor on the way to our setting. This meant we was able to get some filming done and we are a bit closer to completing the work we need to do.
Other problems arose too. The corridor that we was using was a rather busy and regularly used, which meant we often had people walking in front of our shots and we had to take it again. We could of used another corridor but we thought this one was the perfect one.
Also with change of character we had to change parts of our plans, which we struggled to resolve at first but we eventually came to conclusion that we could all be there for and would fit in with all our different plans.

Distribution Company
We will be using MiraMax as our Distribution company because they have distributed lots of Rom-Coms and we felt they were the right company to use for our opening titles.
